Mumbai: Mahesh Bhatt’s younger daughter Alia Bhatt is going to be launched by Karan Johar in his film ‘Student of the Year’. Mahesh Bhatt says that there was no plan or strategy to get her launched under some other banner. It just happened and she is lucky that she got the opportunity to be launched by Karan Johar who is an A-Grade filmmaker.

Bhatt goes on saying that Alia is just 18 and has come out of school thus Johar’s film (which is a campus movie) was the right path for her. Also he narrated that she did not have to work any hard for the movie, it was just pocketed by her. When asked if it was his deliberate planning not to launch his own son and daughter, he responds that there was nothing of this sort behind it. All happened by chance.

About his son Rahul Bhatt, Mahesh says that the doors are always open for him. The thing is that he happens to be super fussy. Mahesh Bhatt reveals that Rahul was offered the film ‘Kalyug’ and he simply refused then Pooja offered him another movie, he again turned the offer down. Mahesh Bhatt mentions that it is not vital that he gets his break under his banner, if he gets a break from other banner, that’s okay.

Karan Johar is returning to direction after some hiatus with Student of the Year. It is a romantic comedy and Alia is making her cinematic debut with this film opposite David Dhawan’s younger son Varun Dhawan. Siddharth Malhotra, another newcomer, has been starred in the movie.

Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films are famous for launching the new talents and the ones they have launched are the popular faces of Bollywood industry today. Let’s wish Alia Bhatt all the best for her debut.
