After the promo of Bol Bachchan was widely appreciated, Rohit Shetty told me that the theatrical trailer of any film decides whether people would want to watch the film or not. He showed us the promo of his big Christmas release Simmba today. As usual, he was smiling in his trademark laid-back manner and before even watching the promo, I knew that he has another winner up his sleeves. After watching the promo of Simmba, my hunch was confirmed that Rohit will welcome the New Year in his larger-than-life avatar. The core subject of women empowerment is laudatory.
Ranveer Singh continues to experiment with multi layered characters and in Simmba, he is essaying a guy that shall be spoken about in glowing terms by the ticket buying public. It’s an entertaining character that’s not always likable and this is what makes him so interesting. Clap worthy dialogues by Sajid Farhad are a big highlight and you’d surely feel like pressing the replay button because of them. The Marathi flavour is going to be a big draw. Ranveer shall have the whistle worthy dialogues for his awards nights and shows.
Sara Ali Khan looks fun and exudes a refreshing personality. The locations are nice as well. Rohit told me that there are six songs in the film. You get to see a hint of situations for some of the songs. There’s also a big surprise in the promo that ought to be seen and not spoken about yet.
