Sara Ali Khan has two releases in the same month with Kedarnath and Simmba. She is making her debut in Abhishek Kapoor directorial and her second film is full blown out commercial entertainer. Even before the release, buzz is that the actress will be running for the debut nominations during the award shows. Interestingly, Sridevi – Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor also made her debut in Dhadak. So, these two-star kids might be the contenders for the debut awards. Asking about who will get credit for Sara Ali Khan’s ventures, Rohit Shetty said, “I think the credit should go to Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) as Kedarnath is her debut film.”

Karan Johar also quipped, “Sara has made debut with me on Koffee With Karan. And her performance was outstanding. She has done her debut with me already. ”

On a serious note, Karan Johar added, “See, I think and I really mean this, I think it’s not fair to compare both the girls at this stage who are just 21 – 22 year olds. Both are wonderful and beautiful. They work very hard. I want to say this with my heart that awards will never matter. But, the work they do and the love they have from people is every award. Awards is the one moment on stage that immediately passes after the social media lets you and then you move on to the next phase of your life which is the most important part of your life – your career.”

Simmba is set to release on December 28, 2018.
