Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…After Shimit Amin who made Ab Tak Chappan for Ram Gopal Varma and then migrated to Yash Raj Films to make the successful Chak De and the dud Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year, another Ram Gopal Varma protege Atul Sabharwal is all set to make a big-budgeted film for Yash Raj.
The film titled Aurangzeb will feature Arjun Kapoor in a double role. However, the really interesting part of the project is the debutant director's slanted association with Arjun Kapoor.
Sabharwal wrote Arjun's uncle Anil Kapoor's murder thriller My Wife's Murder which Ram Gopal Varma produced.
Says a source, "That's when Arjun, then a child, vaguely got to know Atul. To be now directed by him just shows that its small world .And the world of movies is even smaller. Atul wanted to direct his own film for Ram Gopal Varma. But Ramu somehow never got around giving him a chance. Atul came to Yash Raj where he directed an excellent television series Powder. That's when Aditya Chopra spotted the potential in Atul and asked him to write a screenplay."
Confirming Atul Sabharwal to be the director of his second film Arjun Kapoor says, "Yes, I am doing the film."
As for the film that Arjun will do for his father Boney Kapoor the details are still being worked out. It will probably be the one after Aurangzeb.
