The biggest music show of India, Indian Idol is back with its sixth edition, recharged with beautiful voices and fresh talent. Adding the great singing legend Asha Bhosle to the judging panel, the show has gained popularity even more. Out of the millions who auditioned, the following are the Top 9 who have cleared gala rounds are:
1.Vipul Mehta
Home Town: Amritsar
Age: 21 years
This multitasker and talented lad from Amristar, considers Md.Rafi ji as his idol, and is a student of mass communication, Vipul aspires to sing and compose songs all by himself. With singing running down his veins, Vipul is blessed with a melodious voice. He derives inspiration from Salim and loves his works and voice. Besides singing he is really passionate about cars.
2. Ritika Raj
Home Town:Patna
Age: 16 years
The youngest and most notorious of the lot, she is a dynamite that explodes into melodies everytime she hits the floor. She has made many eyes rolling and has proved to be one of the strongest contestants on the show with full chances of bagging the title. She wants to set a record of winning the Title of Indian Idol at the tender age of 16 marking her as the youngest one to win. Cheerful, vivacious, and naughty, Ritika sways souls with her beautiful voice.
3. Devendra Singh
Home Town: Ludhiana
Age: 17 years
Punjabi munda who according to Lata Didi, sings “terrific” with his introvertness and calm nature doesn’t love having addas or fun with his friends, is totally dedicated to singing.He loves spending time with his Guruji. Aspiring to be a playback singer like Sonu Nigam, Devendra is really hard working and struggles very hard towards his goals.
4.Sohini Mishra
Home Town: Cuttack
Age: 23 years
One with mellifluous voice and natural sweetness, Sohini, a student of BioTech, does playback for Oriya Cinema, and is very emotional in nature. She is mischievous as well and loves to play pranks. Her simplicity is her weapon and when she sings people are left awed by her singing.
5. Amitabh Narayan
Home Town: Bihar
Age: 25 years
From Bihar originally but Amitabh has spent his past 8 years in Mumbai, he loves singing and has previously sung for some movies. He is a singer but dreams of being a professional singer. His favorite judge is Anuji and loves his compositions. Trained in classical, Amitabh wants to pursue his career in singing and has family support backing him up.
6. Kaushik Deshpande
Home Town: Mumbai
Age: 25 years
Professional singing is in his genes , Kaushik is a musician and has done shows. Both his parents are professional singers. Kaushik wants to win the title for himself and in turn making his parents proud of him. His favorite judge is Salim Merchant and idolizes Shanjar Mahadevan. He wants to make it big in the industry.
7. Poorvi Koutish
Home Town: Chandigarh
Age: 18 years
She loves jazz, she has just given her class XII Boards, she wants to take up singing professionally, Poorvi has that magic touch in her voice that is required to win the Indian Idol. She pens downs her songs, loves listening to music, loves reading and experiments with her voice and innovates beautifully.
8. Deepika Piyush
Home Town: Delhi
Age: 18 years
Fun-loving, bubbly and cheery girl from the city of hearts is emotional too. Deepika loves Michael Jackson and his songs. She wants to be the Indian Idol for her family. She is very unpredictable according to her friends and can be totally crazy. She has what it takes to reach the summit.
9. Amit Kumar
Home Town: Amritsar
Age: 20 years
The versatile Amit wants that his father should retire from their family business of barbering, and wants to sing beautifully. He spends time listening to music and wants to support his family. He loves Anuji and his music and hums them. He loves hanging out with his friends and watching movies.
