The IPL season has kick started on a glamorous mode in Chennai. The team Chennai Super Kings, which has Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the captain, recently had a match at the Chepauk stadium in the Tamil Nadu capital against Royal Challengers, Bengaluru. Considering that Dhoni’s team took the trophy last year and the location of Chepauk where rarely IPL matches are hosted, the fans of cricket were in high spirits owing to these connections. And they were in for a pleasant surprise to see their favourite Rajinikanth too catching up on the ongoing season of IPL 2019.

The Indian Premiere League has always seen support from the Indian entertainment industry. Whether it is about actors owning teams or celebrities showcasing their support from the stands, there are always stars who have showcased their love for cricket and the tournament too. The IPL 2019 was held in the MA Chidambaram Stadium which is also known as Chepauk between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers. Before the match, fans present at the venue were quite taken aback to see their Thalaivar [leader] aka Rajinikanth walk into the stands along with his team.

Needless to say, this sent them into frenzy as they screamed and howled and cheered for Rajinikanth. Considering his massive fan following and the way his worship the star, they were more than happy about this. Soon pictures and videos were shared by them on social media.

Interestingly, the match also saw Chennai Super Kings basking in the glory of victory against Royal Challengers.

Coming to films, Rajinikanth was last seen in the blockbuster Petta. The actor even celebrated the success of the film with his two sons-in-law, Dhanush and Vishagan Vanangamudi. Before that, he was seen in the sci-fi 2.0 alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.
