Akshay Kumar’s uninterrupted success run at the box office continues. His new release Mission Mangal has accrued Rs 121.23 crores in six days, making it a huge winner. Prior to this Akshay scored with the historical Kesari and in 2018 he had three hits Padman, Gold and 2.0. The last box office failure in Akshay’s career was Brothers in 2015 and prior to that the only Akshay Kumar film to have bombed in the last 10 years was Shirish Kunder’s weird Joker.

With Mission Mangal raking in the numbers Akshay Kumar proves himself the single-most invincible box office force in Bollywood. In brief, there is just no stopping Akshay Kumar. Comments trade analyst Girish Johar, “Akshay Kumar is in his GOLDEN PHASE, he has done a lot of hard work, given immense dedication continuously over a long period of time. He has caught on to the public's pulse in seeking quality-content films, backed with some intelligent humour and with a strong message. Along with this, he is doing the right kind of mix of films, so that for the audiences it doesn't get repetitive.”

Girish Johar feels Akshay superstardom is carefully planned. “The beauty of this seeming madness is that a lot of deep thinking has gone behind it. Top actors do offbeat films once every 2 or 3 years, but here Akshay does this consciously 3-4 times a year and that too for many years. This is a really impossible feat and being successful in this surely makes other actors envious and they too have gone all-out following his footsteps. Wishing him many many and many more years of good and successful story telling.”

Says trade guru Amod Mehra, “Akshay Kumar today is the only complete superstar who is on one hand doing diverse bold roles and in the next two films (Housefull 4 and Laxmmi Bomb) out and out commercial films. His forte is he has developed the skill of choosing the right scripts.”

Adds trade insider Atul Mohan, “The Khiladi has mastered the game and how! Picking up right films with perfect packaging and timing the release perfectly.”
