Ace shuttler P V Sindhu created history after she won the World Badminton Championship. She is the first Indian ever to win this title. Sindhu defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in straight games 21-7, 21-7 to lift the women's singles title in Basel, Switzerland.  Soon after she won the final match, congratulatory messages were in order.

Bollywood celebrities congratulate PV Sindhu for winning the World Badminton Championship 

Members from the Indian film fraternity including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Anupam Kher praised and congratulated Sindhu for her historic achievement.

This is Sindhu's fifth medal at the World Championships, which is the joint highest in women's singles in the history of the tournament along with Xhang Ning of China, a two-time Olympic gold medallist.
