Valentine’s Day 2020 is set to be a big one for Kartik Aaryan. The youngster would be making it huge on an event date, what with his #AajKal (sequel to Love Aaj Kal) arriving on February 14. Though earlier even Ayushmann Khurranna’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan had been announced for the same date, it now has a change in plans with the release date getting pushed by a month.
“This is huge indeed as holidays and event dates are typically reserved for major superstars who have been around for 10-15-20 years. Moreover, Valentine’s Day has started becoming more and more lucrative. This year we had Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy release on that day. Now with Kartik Aaryan getting the date booked for #AajKal on Valentine’s Day 2020, it is an achievement of sorts indeed,” says an insider.
The date is also special due to many other reasons. First and foremost, it is a quintessential romantic musical and what better way to entice youth with this genre than to arrive on Valentine’s Day. Secondly, this is an Imtiaz Ali film and he is telling a quintessential young romantic tale after a while. The film takes him back to his roots which made the first in the franchise, Love Aaj Kal, such a memorable success. Last but not the least, the film has real life jodi of Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan coming together for the first time. That would only add on to the curiosity when the film releases since this is the first time ever when the couple would be seen together on screen.
“Yeah, everything is totally sorted for the film’s major release,” our source adds, “Over the last few years; Kartik has earned a place to step into the big league. When you deliver three straight biggies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Luka Chuppi, and find acceptance amongst youth, elderly as well as kids alike, you have indeed arrived. Soon he would be seen in Pati Patni aur Woh and post that would bring his biggest film till date, #AajKal. While the film is already being anticipated as a major success in the making, 2020 is only looking brighter with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2 arriving next.”
Guess one is going to see a lot of Kartik Aaryan in weeks and months to come.
