Anil Kapoor began his career in films with the Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham, in 1980. The same year, he also appeared in two Hindi films i.e. Ek Baar Kaho and Hum Paanch. The following years, he was filled with work. However, it was with Subhash Ghai's 1985 film Meri Jung that led Kapoor to major fame. As the film recently completed 34 years, he gave away a trivia about Meri Jung that many of us weren't aware of.
He revealed that it was none other than Javed Akhtar who suggested his name for Meri Jung, which earlier had a different name. 'Very few people know that @Javedakhtarjadu saab recommended my name for Shataranj which going to be directed by Ramesh Sippy. Later, that same script was named Meri Jung & was directed by @SubhashGhai1 saab, & which went on to be the film that changed my life,' he wrote.

This also took Javed Akhtar's son Farhan Akhtar down the memory lane, as he recalled accompanying the father to the film sets in his childhood. 'One of my earliest memories of visiting a film set with dad. The scene where you go to the hospital to visit your mother played by Nutan-ji. Congrats on a smashing and still growing career AK. Love you,' wrote Farhan.

Anil Kapoor will be next seen in a row of films including Malang and Pagalpanti. Farhan rightly said that his career is still growing! It's been over three decades since Meri Jung came out, but Kapoor hasn't really aged, isn't it?
