USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…It was a crazy fortnight gone by for the team of Shootout At Wadala which saw some happy coincidences coming its way. Even as the makers were wondering the right timeline to start promotion of the film, its lead actors, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham, had already made plans of their own.

The comic part was the fact they both were aiming for the same destination but took a route of their own.

"Anil Kapoor as well as John Abraham felt that it would be best suited for Shootout At Wadala if it's first theatrical promo was attached to Race 2. Since they play lead protagonists in both the films, it would have been just apt to benefit from that. Surprisingly though, they reached out individually to their respective acquaintances connected to Race 2 and ended up gaining an agreement separately", informs a source attached to the film.

It so happened that at 'Mata Ki Chowki' hosted by the film's director Sanjay Gupta, Anil Kapoor and Ramesh Taurani, producer of Race 2, came face to face. When Kapoor requested Taurani for the promo of Shootout At Wadala being attached to Race 2, the latter agreed but with a request that he would gain the same favour from Gupta when another film of his would arrive on a later date.

"Anil gave a commitment on his own and the deal was sealed there and then. There was no paper work involved either since everything took place on a personal note. Gupta was informed by Anil about the deal and he was more than glad to accommodate Taurani's request. The fact that he was getting a platform like Race 2 to showcase his film was a reason good enough to be elated", a common friend adds.

However, this wasn't the end of it all as John, who was oblivious to the arrangement already being made, confided in Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV for a similar arrangement. Since UTV is associated with Race 2 and Siddharth goes back a long way with John, he too readily agreed. However, once the news break happened for Sanjay Gupta, he couldn't help but chuckle in sheer amusement.

Says Gupta, "Neither I nor Ekta Kapoor (producer of Shootout At Wadala) had to pitch in at all. Our heroes did everything on their own, albeit separately, while fetching us the best results. What more do we want? I am happy that Ramesh Taurani as well as Siddharth Roy Kapur has consented to introduce our film through their Race 2. It is a win-win situation."
