While on one hand, the cinema lovers all over were happy with the fact that the 1983 cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro was being re-released in a new, technically enhanced avatar, on the other hand, the film's cast was not happy with the way it was released and without any fanfare.
A visibly upset Naseeruddin Shah (who was the lead star along with Ravi Baswani) was very vocal about his displeasure as he said that he was very much pissed off with the way NFDC has released the film without any publicity at all. On the other hand, Satish Kaushik (who played one of the pivotal characters in the film) stated that one does wish they had applied more thrust to the marketing and release. At the same time, he also added that one needs budgets for that which NFDC of course won't have.
