Apparently, Kashyap was shooting for Bombay Talkies at a park in Juhu when acting on complaints by some of the residents; officials of BMC descended upon the shoot at around 2 pm and ended up stalling it. The reason stated was that though Kashyap had obtained permission to shoot on the road outside the park, he didn't have the required permissions to utilize the public space within the park.

It is learnt that while shooting on the streets due to the overcrowding and congestion, some of the unit members snuck into the park; and even used a small room within the park for storing production equipment. This was perceived as encroachment as Kashyap hadn't sought permission to use the inside of the park.

Following this, the BMC confiscated the production material that was lying in the park, while Kashyap will also have to forfeit his deposit for shooting on the road outside the park.

Bombay Talkies, that commemorates completion of 100 years of Indian cinema, will incorporate four 20-minute short films by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee.
