Since Salman Khan hit a jackpot with his Eid release Wanted in ’09, the festival is becoming symbolic of the star. The super success of his Eid release – Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and Ek Tha Tiger (2012) only have cemented his monopoly in the box office tomorrow. However, this season there’s a strong buzz that Sohail Khan directed Mental (earlier titled Radhe) starring Salman won’t reach the finishing line promptly.

It has excited other actors who would now like to claim that Special day. Word around the B-Town street is the fact that Rohit Shetty’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express is hurtling fast to satisfy the Eid weekend deadline. The only real hitch right now appears to be Deepika Padukone’s dates. However the team is attempting to operate that out.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta says, “So far there isn’t any confirmation or denial from Salman’s side concerning the Eid release. It will likely be a detailed call. Salman’s film with Sohail just started. It will likely be a genuine race against here we are at these to allow it to be with this Eid. Chennai Express was taking a look at an August or October release, but no date continues to be announced yet.”

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor has decided that her Akshay Kumar-starrer Not so long ago In Mumbai Again is going to do so. Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Movies confirms, “Once Upon.. is really a strong brand, and that we had decided the date 8 weeks ago. Cure is releasing films with that date really was no consideration.”

Komal adds, “So while Akshay’s film is confirmed for Eid, the treatment depends on Salman’s film now. The clash is going to be between Akshay and Salman or Akshay and Shah Rukh.”
