USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Earlier this week, we learnt that prominent lyricist Gulzar and director Vishal Bhardwaj were visiting our neighbouring country Pakistan for a literary festival, and for a song recording. However, the duo had to cut short the visit owing to Gulzar's sudden decline in health.

Apparently, while in Pakistan, Gulzar paid a visit to his mentor's grave and birth place post which things went downhill.

Commenting on the same Vishal says, "We went there to record a song for Dedh Ishqia, everything was fine, Gulzar Saab went visiting the grave of his mentor, an eminent poet Ahmed Nadeem Qasimi, after that he visited his birth place Dina in Pakistan after 70 years. The visits emotionally overwhelmed and stressed him quite a bit. Later when we reached the hotel he started feeling uncomfortable. That's when we cancelled the recording and decided to escort him back to India and discontinued the journey further. There is nothing political about it. We plan to visit Pakistan again for recording as soon as Gulzar Saab feels better."

Ever the humble soul Gulzar sent out a letter to the founder and organiser of the Karachi Literature Festival, Ameena Saiyid, explaining that he had cut short his Pakistan trip and returned home after he felt uneasy in the chest.
