Actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan Saturday said he personally does not have time to play cricket and also the Cricket Championship League (CCL) doesn’t have a “smaller star” like him.

“I is going to be really honest… I’m someone who believes professionalizing sports within this country is probably the most important aspect basically can in whatever way get mounted on it. I’m happy that i’m associated with it,” Shah Rukh told reporters in the grand opening ceremony from the Toyota University Cricket Championship (TUCC).

“I personally wont get time for you to play cricket and so i don’t think I’ll be attached to other things but if it takes me.. I believe there are so many stars inCCL, I do not think they require a smaller star much like me.”

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was the guest of honour in the opening ceremony from the third edition of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) and was cheering for Mumbai Heroes – they owned by his brother Sohail Khan.

TUCC is really a initiative to advertise cricket at the university level to contribute for the revolutionary idea of promoting young talent.

Shah Rukh feels one should create alternate professions for youngsters in the country and sports is the foremost profession.

“Sports is probably the greatest profession within this country. Hopefully with this, a lot more tournaments are made . This is just the start,” he added.

Also, he feels there isn’t any combination like sports and ladies.

“You have to start somewhere which is just the beginning slowly, it’ll spread to more places. Particularly if ask me, then there’s no combination like sports and ladies. I would be really happy whether it went across and ladies participate in it,” he explained.

The first match of TUCC occured between Western Wolves of Mumbai University and Northern Stars of Jamia Millia Islamia.
