"This was at Chandni Chowk where he had made a quick stop for the shooting of his next film, Dr. Cabbie", informs a source, "A small portion of this international film has been set in India and Delhi was the chosen destination. While some outdoor shots were canned in the busy streets of Chandni Chowk, an impromptu decision was taken to make Vinay sit at a makeshift barber place and get a haircut done."
Initially, the idea was to indulge in a quick take and move away for another shot. However, Vinay, who has lived in Canada all his life, was surprised at the manner in which these roadside barbers operate. Of course he was a little hesitant to begin with but then he decided to spend a few extra moments at the 'chair' and had fun checking himself in a pillar-stuck mirror.
Though the makers are keeping details of Dr. Cabbie close to their chest, we are informed that the film is an international collaboration with Vinay playing the central protagonist. Moreover, just like his earlier two films – Breakaway and David – where Vinay had gone unconventional and fetched some good appreciation for attempting different characterizations, even in Dr. Cabbie he is exploring a different subject while staying mainstream.
After a short stint in India which was wrapped in a jiffy, the cast and crew are gearing up to resume the film's shoot in Canada this week.
