USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The Cannes International Film Festival has over the years seen a multitude of Indian celebrities walking the red carpet. This year with reports of none other than legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan set to walk the red carpet for the premiere of his film The Great Gatsby, all eyes are on the festival. However, we now hear that yet another celebrity, this one with a cult following will be seen at the festival; he is none other than superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajini plans to launch the preview of his upcoming film, Kochadaiyaan at Cannes. The film which is said to be a period drama directed by his daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin, is scheduled to release this July.
While the reason behind this preview, being stated by the production house Eros, is that the festival provides a vast platform to display the state-of-the-art technology that has been used, on par with Avatar, to make the film. The festival, which is scheduled to take place between May 15 and 26, features India as the guest country and will have a large delegation of Indian film personalities in attendance.
