The film was Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap.
"Even though Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap was an out and out Bachchan film, there was requirement of a fresh face in the film. Since the makers had seen her work in South films, they offered Taapsee the film. However, when she realized that there wasn't much for her to do in either of the two parts (which were eventually played by Sonal Chauhan and Charmee Kaur), she decided to hold on for a better platform. She didn't want to start off with a film where she didn't have any active contribution. Her excitement about sharing a frame with Big B no less, she decided to have her head win over heart", informs a source.
When contacted, Taapsee doesn't deny the proceedings. "Yes, sometimes you have to take a tough call and this was one of those. I didn't want to get lost in between all the stars. I didn't want to start with a big movie where I didn't have much to do. Chashme Baddoor has turned out to be just the right start. In fact when David Dhawan was told about me, he didn't even audition me. I just had to give a look test and I was on", she smiles.
Now that she has all but wrapped up the promotional tours for the film, Taapsee jokes about the entire rigmarole being akin to canvassing for an election.
"Ghar ghar jaakar vote maangne jaisa kaam kiya hai hum logon ne Chashme Baddoor ke liye. In South we don't run around like this. For me, it isn't just the making of the film but even the promotion part which has turned out to be one adventurous ride", she smiles.
Hopefully the adventure would continue for the spunky girl.
