USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…There continues to be uncertainty around John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan pairing up for the Hindi remake of Vettai. Though there were recent reports indicating that the Dostana pair had been signed for the film which would be directed by Abbas-Mustan, the fact remains that talks haven't even reached the signing stage yet.
"In fact leave aside signing, it is just an intent of interest which has been shown", informs a source, "It is being wrongly portrayed that the team is all set to get going. There is nothing confirmed yet. Yes, Abbas-Mustan would be doing the film but for John and Abhishek to come together for the film, there are still formalities pending."
While it is a given that the duo would be first coming together for Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana 2, an announcement around which is still awaited, it would be a while before remake Vettai comes under the radar.
"In fact John as well as Abhishek have been approached separately for the film. While the makers want John to reprise the part played by Arya in the original, Abhishek is being considered for Madhavan's part. They have expressed interest as well, more so since they love working with each other. However, there hasn't been any signing per se. With both actors busy with other assignments, it is still too early to call this as a definite package in the offering", the source adds.
This gives further twist to the game of musical chairs which has been played during last one year.
Before names of John and Abhishek were being taken, it was Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar who were almost finalized for the film. At that time, the film's director was supposed to be Linguswamy, the man who directed the original film. However, those speculations too found a dead end soon after. Now one waits to see latest developments, what with no real confirmation coming in from the newer team.
