USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…By sheer coincidence, three of this year's National awards winners Sujoy Ghosh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rituprano Ghosh are shooting for two different films together but would be joining up to travel to Delhi to collect their National awards together.
The plan is for Namrata Rao (who has received the National award for best editing in Kahaani) and Vidya Balan to join the Kahaani team for a party after the National awards on May 3.
Says Sujoy, "Yup, we are all going from Kolkata together for the National awards. Me, my director Rituparno Ghosh and Nawazuddin who is in Kolkata shooting for Buddadeb Dasgupta's film, we'll all go together to Delhi. In fact the schedule for Ritu's film Vyomkesh starring me has been delayed only because we're taking a break to go to Delhi for the National awards."
Sujoy says Kahaani would remain special for the team. He has decided not to rush into the sequel. "There is no point in doing a sequel just because we are expected to do it. A film like Kahaani just happens. The entire team somehow managed to put together a film where everything fell into place. I don't know how it happened. I don't know how it would happen again. I have several characters from Kahaani pulling Vidya's character in different directions. I don't know which way Vidya should go."
Sujoy has decided to make Badla first. "The script for Badla is ready. Amitji, Naseer Saab and Vidya have given their nod whereas the Kahaani sequel is still work in progress."
