USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Ranbir to break his own record with Besharam History has been created. With Ranbir Kapoor's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani managing to cross the 100 crore mark within a matter of one week and still going strong, the writing is clear on the wall. He is clearly the youngest superstar around and while he takes big steps towards finding an elite slot amongst the Top-5, it is his next release Besharam which should turn out to be the deciding factor.

"The film arrives four months from now and it would be an acid test for Ranbir. The stakes have really gone up for him and if he scores a biggie there as well, it would not just mark a hat trick of huge successes after Barfi! and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but also challenge the five superstars, all of whom are on the other side of 40," says a senior filmmaker.

Trade is pegging big money on Besharam due to multiple reasons though. "Other than the fact that Ranbir is hugely popular across the country, what makes Besharam special is the fact that it arrives on a national holiday i.e. October 2. Even without one, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani created and broke so many records and one can well imagine how far it would go if it sees such a major holiday for itself," informs an insider, "Moreover, let's not forget that the film is directed by Abhinav Kashyap who gave Salman Khan his first 100 crore success in the form of Dabangg."

With Ranbir playing to the gallery yet again in Besharam, the sophisticated 'made for multiplex' image that he had gained after Rockstar and Barfi! is expected to be further broken.

"Moreover, this is the first time that he would be coming along with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. When Amitabh Bachchan shared screen space with Abhishek Bachchan in Bunty Aur Babli, it was considered huge. Now with Kapoors coming together, especially with Sr. Kapoor enjoying the peak of his new innings, it would be nothing sort of epic," the filmmaker adds.
Guess with so much going in favour well in advance, Besharam could well turn out to be an event at the very start of the last quarter of the year.
