USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…UTV, the makers of the upcoming Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan starrer Ghanchakkar, seem to have landed in some legal trouble. Apparently, a lesser known writer hailing from Nepal, Dhirendra Kumar, has slapped the producers with a legal notice alleging that the film is based on a script he had written.

Though the film is just a few days away from release, Kumar has lodged a complaint with the Film Writers Association on May 20, claiming that he realized the similarities between his script and the film only when trailers of the latter we aired. According to Kumar, he had penned the script back in 2010- 11 and had even registered it the same year.

Furthering his claim Kumar has sent a legal notice to the production house, seeking a stay order on the film from the High Court. While on the other hand, UTV claims that though they have received the notice from the lawyer of the said individual and are in the process of replying, the claims made are absolutely untrue.

Ghanchakkar directed by Raj Kumar Gupta is slated for release on June 28.
