But we are killing her a thousand times by a post-mortem of her death. Instead of letting her soul rest in peace, we are analyzing the causes of her death and attributing it to her failure to face life and even perhaps her lack of spiritual strength.

Does any one of those analyzing her death know the real Jiah Khan, except her beautiful face, her roles in movies? Do these people know what made her laugh, cry; what made her tick, what really drove her to take the extreme step? Do they know Jiah Khan the real person?

There are farmers who commit suicide out of desperation, students end their lives when the fail in their exams, families commit suicides together. Yes, there is a passing mention of these cases. Then all is forgotten and we move on to the next big news.
Yes, Jiah Khan's death is big news. And a great opportunity for all of us to feel spiritually superior. Boast to ourselves, "See we are not like her, but stronger, emotionally and spiritually."

Let us all please examine ourselves and sincerely say that we have real compassion for Jiah Khan and are not discussing her and reading with interest about her because it makes us feel better, even superior.

There are so many generalizations being flung around that Jiah Khan's death is a manifestation of the materialism that has engulfed our society … that all will be well if the lost Indian spirituality is reclaimed.

We are treating Jiah Khan like an item number. Looking at her life and her suicide like voyeurists. We are disrobing her.
Do we have the right to judge her and pontificate on how she should have lived and why she committed suicide and how she could have avoided taking the extreme step?

Can we imagine the pain that her family, near and dear ones and friends must be feeling each time Jiah Khan is written about.
For God's sake, why can't we just let her soul Rest In Peace?
