Zanjeer wont be postponed anymore

USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Zanjeer has been in news ever since its inception last year. Though not all reasons may have been too flattering considering the fact that there were legal issues plaguing the film, there was something for the makers to cheer about once it got clearance for release. Soon after, promos of the Hindi as well as Telugu version were on air pronto as well.

However, latest developments makes one wonder if there is yet another postponement in the making, what with one reason each arising due to recent developments in the Hindi as well as Telugu film industry.

Reason being that Yevadu, a much awaited Telugu film starring Ram Charan Teja, is moving ahead by three weeks and would now be coming only on August 21. Now that would be cutting too fine with Zanjeer, the release date of which has been announced as September 6. Other than just the Hindi version, Ram would also have to think about the Telugu version of Zanjeer, Thoofan.

Moreover, on the Hindi front, an early release of Yash Raj's Shuddh Desi Romance has brought Zanjeer in direct competition with the Sushant Singh-Parineeti Chopra starrer, something that could lead to a rethinking of sorts.

However, Apoorva Lakhia, the director of Zanjeer, is sure that there won't be any change in plans.

When contacted, he said, "I can only talk about my film and what the rest of the world does is not in my hands. This week as many as 12 films released all over India. It's impossible for any film to get a single release unless its features the big four or five actors. Zanjeer is definitely arriving on September 6. There won't be any shifting for anything or anyone."

Considering the fact that the film was originally touted to arrive on March this year, Apoorva's defiant stand on the eventual plans for Zanjeer look justifiable for sure. One wonders though how is Ram responding to the twist in the tale, now that he would also have to practically promote three of his films, Yevadu, Thoofan and Zanjeer.
