Masala director Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone that released this Eid has created history by minting Rs 100 crores in just three days. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to break this news. He tweeted, “And the records lie shattered! ChennaiExpress hits a ton 100 cr at the close of its opening weekend. Creates HISTORY! (sic).”
Taran, Disclosing more about the film’s performance at the Box Office, Tweeted, “#ChennaiExpress Thu previews 6.75 cr, Fri 33.12 cr, Sat 28.05 cr, Sun 32.50 cr. Total: 100.42 cr nett. MONSTROUS Weekend. India biz only. (sic).” Shah Rukh Khan romances Deepika Padukone for the second time in ‘Chennai Express’ after wooing her in Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ a few years back. ‘Chennai Express’ also marks SRK’s first project with Rohit Shetty, who has had a rocking time at the Box Office with his previous blockbusters ‘Singham’ and the ‘Golmaal’ series.
Now all eyes are on the next week for Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha-Imran Khan starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara.
