USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Bollywood is truly turning global. While English Vinglish is regaling audience worldwide, Chennai Express has recently released in hitherto unexplored global territories. A few weeks back Ranbir Kapoor's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani released in Russia while Saif Ali Khan's Cocktail was served in Kyrgyzstan.

Now there is more expected, what with Eros International releasing Yeh Jeewani Hai Deewani along with Agneepath, Agent Vinod and Housefull 2 at Morocco. Considering the fact that this territory is considered to be quite lucrative for Bollywood films, it was a matter of time before a plunge was taken there.

Informs a source, "There was a time till around a decade ago when Morocco was an integral market for Bollywood films overseas. Every Moroccan is said to know at least 100 words in Hindi. But the last few years saw a downturn/slowdown in this market whereas takers for Hollywood films increased."

However, the moment it was realized that the trend was changing and Bollywood started featuring prominently in the Moroccan film festival circuit; it was decided by powers that be to get more pro-active in this region.

"One of the first steps was for Eros to extensively shoot Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Agent Vinod in Morocco. Now, it is all set to bring back Bollywood in its full glory in this territory and open up this market once again with its catalogue of many superhit films," the source adds.

On contacting, Kumar Ahuja, President, Business Development, Eros International Media Limited, confirmed the developments, "Morocco was an integral market for Bollywood films overseas. However, last few years have not seen any Bollywood film release in this territory. With our bunch of popular commercial films, we will bring back Bollywood to Morocco."

Well, the day doesn't seem too far away when just like it's Hollywood counterpart, even Bollywood starts enjoying 'same day' worldwide release of its biggies, hence truly arriving on a global platform. Now that would indeed be something.
