Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his association with social causes, is quite agitated by the recent rape incident in Mumbai and has demanded a severe punishment against the accused. The actor took on to his blog to write about this incident. "Horrendous ! Protests and sit ins to show solidarity with the victim who is in hospital … and a country wide outrage! What is becoming of this city and many others. Thus Mumbai which took pride in the fact that it was the safest city in the country, that women were respected and felt safe at all times .. that city today becoming another rape capital … so disgusting and sad a day !!" Bachchan wrote.
The 22 year old was working on a feature for an English magazine and was gangraped by five men in a deserted mill compound which was located in the heart of the city in Central Mumbai, early in the evening. The actor also revealed that in a country where we celebrate different festivals like Rakhi which signifies the protection of and respect for women, such a shameful act should be condemned and a strict action must be taken against the alleged criminals.
