While this is one of those films where Priyanka decided to have some fun, she is also in the midst of a relatively heavy duty film on the life of Mary Kom. As she continues to travel the globe for her various assignments, the Barfi! lady engages in a quick tete-a-tete.
You are doing movies, working in bilinguals (Thoofan a.k.a. Zanjeer) international music videos (Exotic) and giving voice to an animation film (Planes). Still there are detractors who aren't appreciating the effort. Don't you feel amused about criticism though?
No, I don't feel amused at all. Yes, I do believe that everybody has the right to an opinion. After all, I have put myself out there to be doing different things so anyone and everyone can judge me. However, do that after you have seen my work. If I would have stuck to the norm and done the same thing over and over again, then may be I would have neither got bouquets nor brickbats. Since I am trying to think out of the box and push the envelope a little bit, it is fine if criticism comes in. I expect that but no, that doesn't mean I can be amused. I am way too serious about my work for that.
You seem to be quite serious about Mary Kom flick as well.
Yes, it is a very tough film. In fact it is one of the most physical films that I have ever done. We are shooting sporadically though. It is requiring a lot of effort from me.
Another film that has taken a lot of effort from all involved is Krrish 3. Guess it is time to reap the benefit, now that the film is being readied for Diwali release?
Indeed (smiles). It is a comeback of characters that people have loved over the years so it is going to be very interesting. It is a film for the families.
You aren't coming together with Hrithik Roshan again for Shuddhi though. Many believed that it was pretty much on the cards.
No, I had never been offered Shuddhi in the first place.
