Yuvraj teams up with Farhan for MARD

Yuvraj Singh joins hands with Farhan Akhtar and Atul Kasbekar for Men Against Rape and Discrimination (MARD), a social initiative designed to create awareness amongst men and to instill gender equality and respect towards women. The cricketer recited the poem of MARD for the activists, in Punjabi.

Commenting on his association Yuvraj Singh says, "I am very glad to be associated with MARD. I think every person needs to do their bit."

Via the MARD initiative, Farhan and Atul Kasbekar have vowed to spread awareness about gender inequality and rape through various mediums and languages. Earlier Sachin Tendulkar had recited the poem in Marathi, playback singer Shaan in Bengali and Mahesh Baabu in Telegu.

The activists want to reach out to as many people possible with this thought and believe that with the cultural diversity in India, the only way to do this would be to break through language barriers.
