While it is a known fact that Ayushmann Khurrana has just been signed for a period film, what was kept as a well guarded secret all this while was its very title. Well, we have managed to catch hold of it and it goes as Bambai Fairy Tales.
The surprising part here though is the fact that before Ayushmann, it was Abhay Deol who was finalised for the film.
"Vibhu Puri was in talks with Abhay Deol for Bambai Fairy Tales till middle of last year. Except for a formal announcement being made, it was all but confirmed that the two would be collaborating for the film," informs a source.
However, there was no development on that in months to follow and it had seemed that the project was abandoned. However, with the plans being revived for the film, the return of the same director-title combination has made heads turn.
"It is surprising that the makers never mentioned the film's title when it was announced with Ayushmann and Besharam girl Pallavi Sharada. Perhaps they didn't want any unnecessary attention around film's earlier plans with Abhay," the source continues.
Meanwhile, there is one more surprise. Though the film's producer Guneet Monga had mentioned that the film's shooting would begin in a couple of months from now, our source confirms that Bambai Fairy Tales has already gone on floors in Mumbai last week.
While one wonders why has there been an air of secrecy around the whole affair, buzz is that while Ayushmann will essay the role of a British boy, Pallavi Sharda would be enacting the part of a Maharashtrian girl.
