Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…It isn't just Madhuri Dixit who would be facing a predicament of sorts when her Gulaab Gang and Dedh Ishqiya would release on the same day (10th Jan) early next year. Arshad Warsi too would be finding himself on almost similar grounds since his Joe B. Carvalho and Dedh Ishqiya are all set to arrive on back to back weeks at the very start of 2014.
"Even as the makers of Gulaab Gang and Dedh Ishqiya are yet to conclude on whether one of them would move the film ahead or the clash would be on, the situation has turned further complex. Arshad Warsi, who is one of the male leads of Dedh Ishqiya (other than Naseeruddin Shah) is bringing his Joe B. Carvalho (supposed to sound as 'Jo Bhi Karva Lo') a week before," confirms a source, "The film, which marks the directorial debut of Sameer Tiwari, is all set to arrive on 3rd January."
This has only resulted in complicating the situation further since now there are three films lined up for release on January 3 (Joe B. Carvalho, Sonali Cable, Sholay 3D) and an astonishing six releases a week later (Dedh Ishqiya, Gulaab Gang, Dishkiyaaoon, Karle Pyaar Karle, Ragini MMS 2, Yaariyaan), hence resulting in too much of a clutter for Bollywood to suffer.
Sighs Arshad, "I wish both the releases (Joe B. Carvalho and Dedh Ishqiya) were not so close to each other. The good part is that they both are of completely different genre. My look, body language, behaviour, character and style of acting is completely different in both the films."
The news is surprising no less since one of the producers of Joe B. Carvalho is Bhola Malviya, who has been Arshad's long standing secretary. That makes one wonder whether Arshad could have put some more influencing in place so as to avoid the clash. However, with none of the three films (Joe B. Carvalho, Dedh Ishqiya, Gulaab Gang) involving him and Madhuri Dixit beginning their promotion yet, it could well turn out be the case of 'many a slip between the cup and the lip' once the promotion kick-starts.
