National award winning actress Vidya Balan was bestowed with the prestigious title of Padma Shri on the occasion of the 65th Republic Day of India.
The actress, who was overwhelmed with the honour, recently dedicated this award to her family who has been her support system for all this while. Vidya also stated that it was a matter of pride to receive this award from the government.
Vidya started her career in the entertainment industry with a prominent role in the TV series 'Hum Paanch' and later on went on to become one of the top A listers in Bollywood with her strong women oriented roles in films like Parineeta, The Dirty Picture and Kahaani.
