USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…A year after the release of the film Aashiqui 2, the 2013 musical hit will now be remade in Telugu by producer Bandla Ganesh along with Sachiin Joshi who has bought the rights of the Hindi musical from T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar.
While the original featured Aditya Roy Kapur, the remake of Aashiqui 2 will have Sachiin Joshi in the lead. Confirming the development Bhushan Kumar says, "We have sold the remake rights of Aashiqui 2 to Sachiin Joshi's company who is getting into producing Telugu films. Normally, as producers we buy remake rights of South films, but this time I'm happy that a Hindi movie will be remade in Telugu. I'm very proud of Aashiqui 2."
When contacted Sachiin Joshi added, "I am very excited about Aashiqui 2 as it was the biggest rage among youth. The trend is of Bollywood remaking big south movies, I want to try the same with the biggest Bollywood film."
