USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Rani gets her own Holiday with Mardaani Just a right start has been made for Mardaani, what with the Rani Mukerji starrer throwing a solid punch in its very First Look. There were good expectations to begin with from the Aditya Chopra production and that have been well exceeded by the promo which promises a slickly presented film despite a dark setting of child trafficking.

Of course there is a Holiday kind of situation also being created, what with Rani conversing with the mysterious villain over the phone and throwing an open challenge of sorting out matters on a one-on-one basis a la Akshay Kumar and Freddy Daruwala face/off (which took its own time to actually happen on screen!).

However, given the milieu of the film as well as the stage and setting created by director Pradeep Sarkar, it can be fairly assumed that this is mere coincidence in play with the core treatment turning out to be different.

Though the film's poster had a much grimmer look than what would have been for a mainstream commercial film, the promo indicates that the makers are quite sure about the content in the offering and pitching it for its true worth. No wonder, what one gets to see is Rani Mukerji leading the show as a cop with a mission, without getting into the trap of turning out to be a lady Dabangg.

This means that fortunately one doesn't see Rani flying in air and bashing up 20 goons while landing on the top of a jeep. Instead, there are some dialogue-baazi and mind games at play with some fiery attitude and body language to boast of which promises some good dramatic encounters in play here.

With Ajay Devgn's Singham arriving on August 15, and Rani Mukerji following with Mardaani a week later, it is going to be a cop-out month for sure!
