USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…How can someone try to con the legendary Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu is the first thing that comes to mind, after getting to know what they have gone through in the name of the thespian's biography's release function.
After the grand fan fare with which the thespian's biography was launched recently, the great old couple of Bollywood are now left with a bitter aftertaste. The couple have lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police, in which they alleged that they were duped by a Mumbai based production house named 'Samara Productions' which had promised sponsorship for the book launch event. The couple have alleged that Suresh Kurpad and Anand Rahuilkar (of Samara Productions) had approached them in February through Ms. Udaya Tara Nayar (the author of the book), and offered the proposal of sponsoring their book release event. They then claimed that they would raise Rs. 5 crores through the book launch event. The thespian and his wife were shell shocked when they discovered that the said 'sponsors' had never entered into a contract with the said production house. The contract copies which the Samara Productions' people showed them, also included copy of a cheque of Rs. 4 crore, which Samara's representatives claimed was deposited in Saira's account. But on enquiry with the bank, Saira found out that no such money was deposited into her account.
That's why Dilip Kumar and his wife went onto lodge a police complaint with Khar police station, stating that the Samara Productions has allegedly defrauded them of Rs. 5 crores. The cops at the police station said that the investigation is underway.
