USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Tigmanshu Dhulia and Anurag Kashyap decided to join hands on the occasion of Friendship's Day which was on August 2 and have collaborated on their upcoming project titled Madam X. Based on a Gujarati novel by the same name and written by journalist Ashu Patel; the film will star Huma Qureshi in the lead.
'Madam X' is a story of a female gangster exploring the dark sides of life which is the genre that both filmmakers are well versed with. Talking about this new venture, Tigmanshu stated that when he narrated the story to Huma and she was so thrilled with the project that she immediately decided to be a part of it. Also, he revealed that this will be the first time he will be writing a screenplay for a Bollywood film which will be directed by his friend Anurag Kashyap. He also added that he has known the writer Ashu for many years and the novel suits his and Anurag's sensibilities.
Prior to this, Tigmanshu Dhulia has acted in Anurag Kashyap's popular award winning crime saga Gangs Of Wasseypur I & II where he played a negative role of Ramadhir Singh.
While we hear that the two filmmakers will be co-producing the film, Tigmanshu mentioned that Madam X will be shot in Meerut and Mumbai.
However, currently Anurag Kashyap has all his attention on his magnum opus Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film is shot in Sri Lanka and represents the culture of Bombay in its 60s. On the other hand, Tigmanshu is busy with Yaara starring Irrfan Khan, Amit Sadh and Vidyut Jamwal.
Huma is busy with other projects and she is currently shooting for Badlapur with Varun Dhawan, Yami Gautam and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Mumbai.
