Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Just when the euphoria of Heropanti had seemed to settle down, Kriti Sanon would soon be witnessing the DVD release of the film, which is all set to take place any day now. If the film went on to do over Rs. 50 crore at the box office, hence turning out to be the highest grossing film with a solo male and female lead star cast, its debutant leading lady was much noticed as well for her looks as well as acting talent. While the sound of 'Whistle Baja' and 'Pappi Song' reverberates till date, the pretty girl from Delhi is now gearing up to learn various dance forms for her upcoming film outings.
Meanwhile, there are also developments in the making when it comes to her next with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, with whom she has a three film contract.
"I think Sajid is a producer who takes care of you like his own child when he is launching you," says Kriti fondly, "He is very much concerned about what I pick up next. He feels responsible for me, regardless of whether my immediate next film is with him or someone else. I guess that by itself is a big deal. Though I am not in a binding deal and it isn't as if I have to exclusively work on three films straight before I move on to some other filmmaker, I would really like to work with him ASAP."
Kriti Sanon is particularly impressed by the fact that while Sajid Nadiadwala was producing Heropanti, 2 States and Highway, he went on to direct a film himself and deliver nothing short of a blockbuster.
"Look at the year he is having," she exclaims, "First he scores a hat-trick as a producer. Then he comes up with a debut directorial affair and makes Kick a Rs. 200 crore affair. I guess what makes him special is the fact that he has a great choice of scripts."
Meanwhile, slowly and steadily, she is finding some bearings in an industry where she was a complete outsider till a couple of years back.
"I still don't know many people personally but then there were a few who are genuinely appreciative of the work I do. It would be immodest of me to name anyone when some head honchos of big corporate houses make an effort to text you after seeing your work, you indeed feel thrilled that there are people out there who have confidence in you. These little texts and gestures make your day. As I said, I am still connecting with people due to which not many even have my number. However when some out there send their compliments through common friends and acquaintances, you feel indeed worth it," she smiles.
Maintain a steady run girl, there are going to be many more of such compliments in time to come.
