USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…If paradise can be hell, this was it. Director Shakun Batra, who was trapped in the devastating Kashmir floods, returned to relative safety on Wednesday night.
It was widely reported that Shakun, who is closely associated with Dharma Production and has directed the super-success Ali Bhatt video Genius Of The Year, was stranded in Kashmir where he had gone to attend a friend's wedding.
The suspense for Shakun's family and friends ended on Wednesday evening when he arrived in the capital.
Connecting with this writer Shakun said, "I landed in Delhi on Wednesday night and I am perfectly safe now. Thank you for checking. I hope this will put to rest all the fears about my safety."
Shakun, who had left for Kashmir for a friend's wedding, unsuspecting of the Nature's horrific fury that awaited him, was among the thousands of locals citizens, tourists, pilgrims and visitors who were stranded after the worst floods since 1959 broke out in the Valley.
Sounding much relieved, Shakun says, "All of us who went to Kashmir for the wedding were stranded. Many of us were rescued on Wednesday.I am still trying to communicate with the families of some friends who are still stuck there.We are now back to safety."
