Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…After having won acclaims galore from almost everyone alike for his stellar performance in the film Ship Of Theseus, Sohum Shah will now be seen in the character role of a flirtatious guy next door in director Khalid Mohammad's remake of the yesteryear's cult film Katha. Sohum will be playing the role of Bashudev, which was played by the legendary actor Farooque Shaikh in the original.
Speaking about the same, Sohum said that Khalid had met him with another subject earlier, which did not work out. After getting the rights of the Katha remake, when Khalid offered him the role, he instantly agreed. When asked about the but-obvious comparison with the late Farooque Shaikh, Sohum said that Farooque sahib had his distinctive style and that he will be interpreting the character as per today's times. He added that it was indeed a delight to bring back this beautiful story for an audience who missed it.
Besides Katha, Sohum will also be seen in Meghna Gulzar's next and the period drama Tumbad.
