USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…With Box Office determining the fate of films every Friday, one important thing that all producers, directors and actors fear is a face off. Often when big releases clash, it is given that one of them will bow down ultimately to avoid such a tricky situation that may lead to heavy financial losses. Just a couple of hours ago, Yash Raj Films announced their ambitious film Sultan starring superstar Salman Khan for Eid 2016.
Readers may also be aware that few months ago, it was announced that Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees, after much delay and contemplation will release on July 3, 2016. It needs to be noted that two superstars will not only be clashing at the box office but it may lead to one of the biggest face offs that Bollywood has ever seen. Moreover, it may also be noted that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, have a past, a bitter one at that and the duo have often avoided meeting each other on number of occasions. While it may be considered that the rivalry between the two has cooled down of late, will this face off lead to yet another war between the Khans, we never know.
Considering that Raees has announced its release date a few months ago, we wonder what prompted the makers to release Sultan in and around the same time.
On the other hand, when we look back at the records, Salman Khan's movie releases during Eid have proved very successful. With Bajrangi Bhaijaan releasing in Eid 2015, the superstar is all set to make yet another record. It remains to be seen if Yash Raj Films who announced the release of Sultan with much fanfare will back down from the release or will it be once again Excel Entertainment who may have to shift their dates to avoid a face off.
