Priyanka Chopra Irrfan Nana Patekar to dub for The Jungle Book

Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…For the dubbed version of the renowned childhood tale The Jungle Book, the makers have got in some popular Bollywood stars to lend voices for the characters of the film. From Priyanka Chopra to her on screen mother Shefali Shah (Dil Dhadakne Do), a lot of actors have given nod for the same.

Priyanka Chopra who is juggling between Hollywood and Bollywood projects, will be her giving voice for Kaa, the python which in the original is given by Scarlett Johannson. Irrfan Khan, who is also associated several Hollywood projects including the upcoming Inferno, will be lending his voice to the friendly bear Baloo, originally given by Bill Murray in the English version. Nana Patekar, Shefali Shah, Om Puri too gave a nod to give voices for other important characters like Sher Khan, Raksha and Bagheera while the original version has Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Ben Kingsley giving their voices respectively.

"The Jungle Book is so very special to India, and we want our audience to enjoy Disney's all-new live-action adaptation. We wanted nothing but the best for the Hindi version of the film. We are so excited to have such veterans and A-list actors come together to voice and bring alive these beloved characters making it like a high scale Hindi film," said Amrita Pandey, Vice-President – Studios, Disney India.

Disney's The Jungle Book is directed by 'Iron Man' fame director, Jon Favreau, and inspired by Rudy Kipling's adventure stories based in India and Disney's animated version. The Jungle Book blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The Jungle Book is slated to release in India on April 8, a week before US release.
