Ajay Devgn to fly from Bulgaria to receive the Padma Shri Award

The film, that has the actor in the lead role along with directing and producing it, will be extensively shot in Bulgaria. However, amidst his busy schedule, the actor received news about the honour of Padma Shri being conferred to him and he has decided to fly down all the way from Bulgaria for the same.

Though he is currently knee deep shooting in Bulgaria for Shivaay, he will specially fly down to Delhi to receive the prestigious Padma Award. Ajay will be wrapping up shoot on time and will reach directly to Delhi on March 28 to receive the award. Earlier upon the announcement, Ajay Devgn had said in a statement, "I feel deeply humbled yet elated to receive such honor from my own country. This announcement today makes it special for me when I'm filming abroad for my new film Shivaay. I'd like to acknowledge that Padma Samman puts an extra responsibility on me and I promise to serve my country for as long as I can."

Ajay Devgn, who will soon receive his fourth highest civilian award, made his debut as an actor in Bollywood with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 and went on to win two National Awards for Zakhm (1998) and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002). He turned producer with the film Raju Chacha (2000) which had him paired opposite his wife and co-actress Kajol and he later on tried his hands at direction with U, Me Aur Hum (2008).
