Swiss government instils late Yash Chopras sculpture in his honour

Besides the trademarked romance, the legendary filmmaker (late) Yash Chopra was known for the way he captured the breath taking locales of Switzerland for decades in almost all his films. As a mark of respect and gratitude, the Swiss government has honoured him with a special statue that was inaugurated yesterday.

The said sculpture which has (late) Yash Chopra in an iconic pose of him directing a film, been made of pure bronze and weighs about 350 kilos. This statue will be installed at the heart of Interlaken, inside the Kursaal area, near the Congress Centre, which happens to be a popular spot with the tourists.

Besides ministers and senior bureaucrats from the Swiss government, the late Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra and his daughter in law Rani Mukerji attended the inauguration event, which had been organised by Interlaken Tourism and Jungfrau Railways.
