USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…While Cannes proved to be yet another memorable experience for the popular actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he will soon be gearing up for several of his upcoming projects. One amongst them is Nandita Das' Manto.

Though earlier we had reported that it was Irrfan Khan who was supposed to play the role, it seems that the actress turned filmmaker Nandita Das changed her mind regarding the same. On the other hand, Nawaz is equally excited to play the role. Claiming it to be an interesting challenge, the actor has already completed the costume trials for the period drama that will be set in the 40s and 50s.

We hear that the entire process for the film moved forward during the Cannes film festival this year. While Nandita Das is a frequenter there, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had flown to the French Riviera for the premiere of his film Raman Raghav 2.0 along with the rest of the cast and crew.

Manto, based on Pakistani playwright Sadat Hasan Manto, is an Indo-French production that is slated to go on floor by the end of this year.
