USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey was much in the news recently for his dark drama, Udta Punjab. Readers may recall that the much-publicised film received mix reactions from the audience but was applauded for the terrific performances from the lead actors. Now, Abhishek Chaubey is ready for his next project and it is with veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik.
Satish Kaushik, who starred in Udta Punjab as Shahid Kapoor's uncle, will be directing a biopic. This time around Abhishek Chaubey will be co-producing Satish's next directorial venture. Confirming the news, Satish revealed that the film is based on a man in Azamgarh village in Uttar Pradesh who was declared dead on paper when in reality he was alive. The man fought for 18 years to prove that he wasn't dead.
The untitled film is a black comedy and will be produced by Abhishek Chaubey along with Satish Kaushik's company and Honey Trehan's MacGuffin Pictures.
