The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) organized a farewell event for the Indian athletes who will be participating in the much awaited Rio Olympics 2016. Readers may recall that Salman Khan and music composer AR Rahman were named the Goodwill Ambassadors of the Indian contingent for the Olympics 2016.
At an event organized yesterday by IOA, Salman Khan and AR Rahman met the athletes and felicitated them to boost their confidence for the Rio Games. One of the big names among the Indian athletes was Sania Mirza who will be participating in both women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Vinod Tomar, gymnast Dipa Karmakar and table tennis star Manika Batra were among those who attended the ceremony.
Rio Olympics 2016 will begin on August 5, and India is sending over 100 athletes for it.
