All eyes on John Abraham-Varun Dhawan-Jacqueline Fernandezs Dishoom to further make it big in July

7 months. 7 big winners.
From January to July, there have been just seven out and out hits, super hits or blockbusters that have kept Bollywood happy. January [Airlift], February [Neerja], March [Kapoor & Sons], April [Ki & Ka, Baaghi], June [Housefull 3] and July [Sultan] came up with a winner each and though the month of May largely drew blanks, it was last week release from April – Baaghi – which kept the moolah coming in theatres.

Now it is expected that July would have Dishoom add on to the moolah that Sultan has accumulated ever since its release.
"This is pretty much needed as well," says a trade insider, "You can't have just one major film come and earn truckloads of money. There has to be constant churning of resources and for that it is pretty much required that there are at least two good earners every month."

It was expected that Great Grand Masti would make the month of July as one of the most happening of the year but its disastrous collections have doused the high spirits that the industry had at the start of the month.

"On one side it had seemed that July would set the record for Rs. 500 crore coming in between Sultan, Great Grand Masti and Dishoom. However, even though Sultan did its job of at least marching towards the Rs. 300 crore mark, Great Grand Masti is struggling to even get into a double digit score. Its negligible collections being kept aside, now all eyes are on how much farther does Dishoom go," an industry veteran comments.

Thankfully for the film, the credentials involved know their job and hence there is certain sense of comfort in what would entail when the film releases on July 29.

"Varun Dhawan has seen six straight good earners so far. Even his so-called under performer Dilwale did close to Rs. 150 crore. John Abraham may have had a disappointment in Rocky Handsome but overall, he can be relied upon to pull in audience. Jacqueline Fernandez is fast accumulating her much larger fan base. As for Sajid Nadiadwala, he has had a terrific year so far with Housefull 3 and Baaghi turning out to be successful. He knows his commerce and with Eros being associated with the film, expect them to come up with a glossy commercial affair that caters to both the masses as well as classes," says an observer.

What further works in the favor of the film is the fact that it can release at a very large number of screens which would be at its disposal since Sultan would be largely through with its run.

The trade insider continues, "With respect to the promotion, marketing and release, Dishoom has everything sorted out. As long as director Rohit Dhawan promises a good massy entertainer, the game is on for Dishoom. With two open weeks ahead of it till the release of Rustom and Mohenjo Daro (on August 12), sky is the limit for the film."

Guess it's time for some Dishoom!
