Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…On Friday, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor who has enthralled us not just on the big screen but also on social media via his twitter handle was honoured at the first BRICS film festival. In fact Kapoor was honoured by the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod and Minister of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh for his and the Kapoor family's contribution to the field of cinema.

After accepting the honour on stage, the actor thanked the organizers saying, "I may be politically little incorrect, but I am an actor not a politician. I want to thank BRICS for giving me this opportunity to be here. In all humility, I would like to introduce myself as a member of a film family". Later tweeting about the same Rishi posted, "Thank you BRICS. Thank you @Gen_VKSingh MoS External Affairs, @Ra_THORe MoS I&B and @jairamvgj. Huge honour!"

As for the festival, it is an initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last BRICS summit that was held in Russia and also features a competition section in which 20 films will be screened.
