With the solo aim of producing some unconventional yet commercial cinema, John Abraham announced his ambitious production house with the film Vicky Donor. While JA Entertainment has tasted critical acclaim and a couple of successes, one of their productions Satra Ko Shaadi Hai however has run into trouble. In fact, Satra Ko Shaadi Hai, which was supposed to feature Sapna Pabbi of Khamoshiyaan fame and Harshvardhan Rane, was to be co-produced by John along with UTV-Disney. Readers may be aware that there has been news in the trade about Disney shutting down Bollywood production. Though there has been no official announcement on the same, we hear that the status of several films after Dangal and Jagga Jasoos are currently in a quandary. It is also being said that there was an intense meeting between Siddharth Roy Kapur and John Abraham regarding the film but the latter returned disappointed as the status of the film was yet unclear despite the discussion. What further added to the woes was a deal that was apparently signed between UTV and JA Entertainment which neither allowed the actor to back out nor could he stay considering the issues his ambitious venture was facing. It is also being said that John Abraham’s company has been facing financial trouble due to the film’s ambiguous status and the actor turned producer has been bearing the monetary burden alone as financers continued to withdraw their investments from the film. In order to save the day, however, it has been learnt that the actor, owing to the kind of goodwill that he is known for, decided to make the payments from his own pocket. Satra Ko Shaadi Hai, is said to be a rom-com that is set at the backdrop of a big fat Indian wedding. Considering the current scenario and with neither of the parties talking or revealing the details of the film, we are unsure if the film will ever see the light of the day. This has become one nightmare of a wedding that seems to be going through a tedious divorce even before the due date.
